249E Steam Locomotive and No. This pair was produced just prior to WWII from 1936 – 1939. The locomotive & Tender seem to be original and it shows some wear. The color is Gunmetal. There is a little light surface rust mainly around the trucks. It is also missing one of the tender’s back grab rails. The locomotive runs very well. With a lot of power. It easily pulls a five car prewar 800 series train. You can see this nice pair pull that full train on YouTube. They come in Custom Label Lionel Boxes.

Thank you for visiting the my Trains-West. I’m very excited to bring you this item. 224E – Lionel Lines 2-6-2 Steam Locomotive with 2689W sheet metal tender. Locomotive is gunmetal color with nickel hardware and nickel driver rims. Paint overall still has luster, a few minor paint chips. The locomotive runs when tested, the whistle motor spins but does not whistle when tested. No box or instructions. This locomotives appearance will improve with a cleaning.

Classic 1930s Lionel O-Gauge Lionel Jr. Family-owned and includes all original cars with their matching boxes. Grandfather passed this down to us but we have no tracks to use it on. What’s Included: 1689E Locomotive: Gunmetal Grey. Tested (with transformer not on tracks) and running (may need cleaning/oil). 1689W Whistle Tender: Untested (no track to test whistle). 1680 Sunoco Tanker: Silver tinplate. 1679 Baby Ruth Boxcar: Yellow/Green litho. 1682 Caboose: Red/Maroon with brass trim. Also included- (2) Lionel No. 58 Gooseneck Lamp Posts: Vintage die-cast metal street lamps (untested). 1010 Transformer: Used to test the engine.
