Lionel Prewar Tinplate 610 612 Red Pullman Passenger Cars Set of 3. All three cars show discoloration, possibly due to exposure to sunlight while on display for a number of years. Some of the red now appears faded or has changed to an orange color. One of the pullman cars is missing a coupler. Lights in the pullman cars are untested as they do not have bulbs. Lionel pre-war O gauge Model 238 “Pennsylvania Torpedo” steam locomotive and matching tender. Modeled directly after the real-world. A K4 Pacific steam locomotive outfitted in a legendary aerodynamic casing styled by famed industrial designer [Raymond Loewy]. Lionel manufactured this die-cast O gauge model from. Units manufactured between 1936 and 1938 feature a gunmetal gray finish. Models produced between 1939 and 1940 were finished in satin black, matching the version displayed in your image. Prominently displays “PENNSYLVANIA” along the side skirts, the “238” model number beneath the cab window, and a matching sheet metal “waffle top” tender. Original pre-war Lionel No. 97 electric coal elevator accessory. The motor energizes and produces a steady hum when power is applied, indicating current reaches the motor assembly. The bucket elevator mechanism does not rotate and appears to require cleaning, lubrication, and/or servicing after long-term storage. This unit has not been disassembled or restored and retains its original finish, components, and patina. Please review photos carefully for cosmetic condition and completeness.
