Only extremely minor nicks / paint chips from age. Looks almost brand new. NO broken or missing parts. Wheels, gears, and internal motor are immaculate. Only moderate wheel wear is visible. Lettering and numbers on chrome side plates is in pristine condition. RUNS EXTREMELY STRONG and SILENTLIKE NEW! Auto reversing unit works well in Forward, Neutral, and Reverse. Will require a good wheel cleaning from lengthy storage. Wheels and gears move easily by hand. RARE BLACK PRE-WAR (1936) #238E 4-4-2 Torpedo Steam Locomotive painted in BLACK PRR Colors. This 85 Year old Lionel Treasure looks as if it just came off Lionel Cowans production lineits in absolutely beautiful condition. Early die-cast shell with all metal handrails. Equipped with transformer controlled Auto-Reversing Unit with lockout. All Die-Cast metal wheels and axles. Silver Name and Number metal plates on both sides. Beautiful chrome Lionel metal stamped nose plate in color. Lionel production plate on undercarriage is immaculate. First lighted marker lights on a Lionel locomotive. Operates on 0-27 curves.
