You are looking at a big beautiful prewar steam engine and tender in the classic black. You gotta love any of the art deco streamlined looking locomotives. Call it a Torpedo style, call it the first Silver Bullet, but call it yours before someone else does. This is a classic looking engine and tender produced by Lionel in the mid to late 1930’s. The streamlined style really gives it that great classic toy train look. The 1688 is one of the ones collectors and operates alike love to have. Serviced and running, reversing. Nicely repainted flat black. You can see a little paint around the nameplates. There’s some oxidation and wear on all of the plates. The slot and tab have rust. LIONEL Prewar 252 engine Vintage/Antique Engine tested, serviced Runs Black

This is a nice Lionel 252 serviced Great condition. I bought this one and it needed refurbished, and motor repaired. Now it runs great in both directions. Good wire and manual switch. See the Video picture of it running. I list them for what I have in them, cost plus materials. Runs great is both directions. Service and Has been Tested and lubed.. Tested it running in forward and reverse. Antique Prewar Tin Plate Engine. Made in the late 1920’S. Runs F & R, Forward and reverse. Look at the picture. Decide for your self. You are looking at a good looking 1666 steam locomotive. This is the BLACK version. We tested it, and it is running well. There is no tender included, so you can use whichever tender you want to this engine–prewar or postwar. This is one of the iconic prewar steam engines, a nice diecast engine. This model was produced prewar and postwar, but the features of this one date it to 1940-41. This one is the prewar version–note. The flat rear deck of the cab. Moveable bell on top. Metal plates for number under cab. NO tender included in this listing. Tested and runs, reverses. Clean but has some oxidation on the siderods and some rubs and paint chips in the black. One marker light is missing the jewel. I can replace for you upon request. Good metal plates under cab. Tested and runs, lights, reverses.
