I bought it to complete. Has a solid brass steam chest I painted, New side rods there were non, several new wheels, Needed to be rewired, Missing front boiler, and did not run. I spent a lot of hours getting it completed.

Had in my collection LOOKS ALL ORIGINAL, Read on. The 259E with lever on top of cab. If my price seems high I want you to know that I usually put 6-10+ hours of labor restoring it to the condition it is at now. Plus I usually put Fifty to one Hundred dollars or more in refurbished or new parts. Sometimes less sometimes more. If you want one cheaper you may have to repair it and its costly. Even the new parts do not fit and have to be modified. This one was nice and original so I save it. I found a gun metal tender I had and added it. Color is a little lighter but still look good. Antique Prewar Tin Plate Engine. Made in 1930’s. Runs F & R, Great runner Forward and reverse. Look at the picture. Decide for your self. SEE PICTURE OF IT RUNNING. LIONEL Prewar 152 engine Vintage/Antique restored tested, runs, see pictures

Trying to finish up my last few old prewar engines that I still have laying around before I give it up. Then have some in my private collection. If my price seems high I want you to know that I usually put 6-10+ hours of labor restoring it to the condition it is at now. Plus I usually put Fifty to one Hundred dollars in refurbished or new parts. Sometimes less sometimes more. If you want one cheaper you may have to repair it and its costly. Even the new parts do not fit and have to be modified. It is a very sharp Gray 152 Lionel restored by me. The 152 Run in one direction only. They never had a reversing switch only the Similar 152 did. Very sharp looking engine. I had clean all the brass, Great wheels, serviced and rewired, lights. Lube and replace brushes. I put a coat of clear on to protect the decals. Runs great in both directions. See three pictures of it running. Has been serviced, Tested and runs. See picture running is forward and reverse. I serviced the motor, Serviced manual reversing switch, Antique Prewar Tin Plate Engine. Made in the late 1920’S. Runs F & R, Great runner Forward and reverse. Look at the picture. Even the new parts do not fit and have to be modified. It is a very nice Lionel 254 in Great condition. Bought this awhile ago as original but did not run and need to be cleaned up and parts missing. I left the shell as is still very nice. Frame was cleaned and all parts cleaned & polished, some missing so any missing parts I replaced. Motor did not run. It was rewired and serviced. Lights work run great. See pictures of it running. I do not think this one was. Runs great is both directions. See three pictures of it running. Has been serviced, Tested and runs. LIONEL Prewar Early 250 Engine, restored, serviced & runs great see pictures. 1926

Plus I usually put Fifty to one Hundred dollars in refurbished or new parts & polished the good original parts. Sometimes less sometimes more. If you want one cheaper you may have to repair it and its costly. Even the new parts do not fit and have to be modified. This is a 250 which came out before the 252. (The correct early 250 was made one year only in 1926) then in 1927 they came out with the 252 and added a reversing switch, They also made some 250’s from 1927 to 1930 with the reversing switch. This was done with the lever coming out on top where they cut a slot.. The Early 1926 — 250 does not have the slot in the top of the engine where the manual lever would stick out like the 252. The early 250 had no manual switch so they only ran in one direction. I had this one laying around all beat up and decided to save it. So I restored it and now up for sale. Hard to find this early 250. It is a very nice Rarer Lionel 250 Restored Great condition. I had restored the shell with some new parts. Then the frame and motor for it. The motor was re-wired and new brushes. Service and added new parts where needed. See last pictures of it running. Has been serviced, some new parts, Tested and runs. See picture running is forward.
