Beautiful RARE Lionel Original Prewar #84 Racing Set with Complete Track! Here is a truly rare set that almost never shows up complete for sale! This #84 Lionel Racing Set includes #8 Racer in red, #9 Racer in yellow, and all the original track! This is the best condition example of this set we have ever had, and one of the best in existence. All pieces are all original with no touchup or repaint ever. This set includes ALL of the original track, all 16 pieces, both the inner and outer loop, and both power tracks with the original pickups! The track is in fantastic condition still retaining all of its original inner green paint, with only light scratches. All of the rails and hardware are intact as well! The track is almost always missing in these sets, and collectors covet original track. Many times you will see reproduction track with original cars. This is a chance to have the real deal! The only thing missing from this set is the “Start-Finish” pole and sign, but only a handful of originals are known. Both cars are wonderful, with amazing paint that is clean, shiny, and displays great. The orange #9 is beautiful, with only a couple small scratches. The paint really pops! The number 9 stamping is mostly faded on the radiator, but it still partly visible, and is original! The steering wheel and column are original, and it included it’s original rear spare tire! All 4 of its drive wheels are original as well, and are in great condition, except for the right rear, which has a small piece missing. The red #8 is equally beautiful, with paint that pops, showing a couple small scratches. The number 8 stamping on the radiator is strong and bright, and is all original. The steering wheel and column have been nicely replaced. It too retains its original spare tire! The #8 also has all original drive wheels, and they all are in fantastic original condition. The motors and rail pickups on both cars are all intact, and are in beautiful original untouched condition. They have not been tested, but they appear to be in good working order. Also included is a reprint of an ad from a Lionel catalog showing the race set. Please examine photos as they are the best description. This is a truly amazing example of this set, and you will be hard pressed to find a better example out there. This could be the centerpiece of yours or anyone’s collection, do not miss it!
