Lionel 249E Steam Engine With 2265T Tender. This is a Prewar Lionel 249E steam engine with a 2265T tender from 1936. The engine has been restored to its original gunmetal color. The restoration consisted of painting the engine shell and pilot, polishing the nickel trim and rods and cleaning and lubricating the motor and gears. In addition the brushes and brush springs were cleaned and lubricated and a new drum installed in the eunit. The tender shell was painted, the nickel trim was cleaned and polished and the tender wheels were cleaned and lubricated. The pair was tested on my O-36 fastrack layout and ran correctly.
