Vintage Lionel Pre War 0 Gauge 2-4-2 Locomotive #1684 withTender & 5 Cars/Caboose

PREWAR LIONEL 1684 STEAMER WITH 1689T TENDER. Lionel offered the 1684 only from 1941 – 1942. This is the Type II in black, the Type I was gun metal. This vintage locomotive I’ve not seen it run in many years; but it was a treasured piece. These were the last manufactured by Lionel before the war 1940’s. These items are used, previously played with, and show evidence thereof. The locomotive has not been track or bench tested. Listing includes Locomotive w/tender, 6 model train cars, 4 appear to be LIONEL. Some train cars are metal while others are plastic. Some appear vintage American Flyer (2) while others appear to be post war. Largest piece measures approx 9.5 inches long 3 inches tall. Each piece has evidence of wear, needs cleaning, some parts may be missing. The locomotive is in good condition for it’s age, but still shows surface wear, paint cuffs, dust in tight crevices, rusting, scratches, etc. Parts may be broken or missing from this listing as mentionedabove. Vintage Lionel prewar standard gauge 390e withtender Good condition

Vintage Lionel prewar standard gauge 390e w/tender in good condition. Has a bit of wear and scratches for being 90 years old. Tender still has the sticker underneath it. Some light rust spots. I have no way of testing this locomotive but I was told that the engine runs in forward only! Some of the pony truck wheels have some cracks on them being original. Just to point out, a piece on top of the boiler cab has broken off. Looks to be re-wheeled. Overall, a great set to run on any standard gauge layout! These tend to be very desirable! Vintage Lionel prewar standard gauge black 1835 withtender in excellent condition

Vintage Lionel prewar standard gauge black 1835 w/tender in excellent condition! Some minor wear and scratches. There is a thin coat of dirt on both pieces but once cleaned off, this will come out very nice! Some rust on the coupler, axles, the drawbar, and drivers (can clean off easily). All wheels are original with no cracking or warp. Cowcatcher has the most wear/scratches. All original paint on both pieces! No warpage on the tender casting. I don’t know if the engine or tender function but could use a good servicing before operation. Overall, a great set to service and run on any standard gauge layout! It will be insured.
