Lionel #1663 0-4-0 Switcher with #2201T Slope Tender from 1940-42 PreWar production. Three Prong Tender “male” connections to Cab of Loco. Layout Tested, Oiled, Cleaned and Lubed. Since I’m more a PostWar guy, admit this is a bit out of my “wheelhouse”… Not 100% sure about harness hook ups, but all ran well w/ 3 Position E-Unit. Tender backup light did not go on, but probably a bulb or wrong lead from tender. It’s way too Excellent to mess with this classic of which I can find little references..

Item: Lionel Prewar Locomotive. Scale: O or O-27. Box / Condition: None. Description: Lionel Prewar O / 0-27 Steam Locomotive. I also cannot guarantee that there are no missing parts, or that all the parts are original. I also cannot guarantee that the Loco & Tender are a match. Tough to find 201 0-6-0 Switcher Locomotive, runs in reverse smoothly but won’t switch to forward, the backup light works on the tender, will need to be rewired, I see a scuff on the smoke stack, the marker light are not broken, bent or missing, really nice set, just needs some cleaning, oil and love. TCA (Train Collectors Assoc) Standard for Grading. Brand New all original, unused and unblemished. Complete all original, no rust, no missing parts, may show effects of being on display and/or age, may have been run. All original minute scratches and paint nicks, no rust and no missing parts. No distortion of component parts. Minor scratches and paint nicks, minor spots of surface rust, free of dents. May have minor parts replaced. GOOD – Sign of play wear with scratches and minor paint loss. Small dents, minor surface rust. Evidence of heavy use. FAIR – Scratched, moderate paint loss, dented missing parts, surface rust. Requires major body repair. Heavily scratched, major rust and missing parts. C-2 – Restoration required. C-1 – Junk, parts value only. Paint seems in fair condition. The locomotive paint is in much better position than the tender -one side of the tender is fairly chipped. So assume the worst but be pleasantly surprised if it works. The geared wheels move freely with all moving when I turn one wheel. All the wheels move freely on the tender. The magnetic coupler on the tender is locked but I was able to manually lift the pin and it opens and closes nicely. I can always add detail photos if needed.
