LIONEL No 253 PREWAR LOCOMOTIVE WITH 607, 607, & 608 VERY GOOD C-6 CONDITION

At that time, they had been displayed for a few years in his Den. I removed a slight amount of dust, replaced the Head Light Bulbs and Wires, gave the Locomotive and Cars some fresh lubrication, and they ran like they were still new! Nothing else has been done to them, and they are basically in the condition I received them in. I ran them a couple of times, but they have mostly been in my display case for the last 28 years. It’s now time to pass them on for someone else to enjoy. The Locomotive and Cars are in Very Good, Solid Condition for their age, but do have some paint loss, and marks from play wear and age. There are no broken or missing pieces that I can see. The cars still have their lubrication labels in place, on the bottom of the chassis. The Locomotive is equipped with a Manual Switch, for changing direction, that Functions as it should. In forward, neutral, and reverse. The Lights are all in working order, however they flicker when the cars are moving around the track. The wires on all three cars are a little brittle and should be replaced. That and cleaning the contact rollers and wheels, should resolve the flickering problem. Most of the Window Panels are intact accept for the ones on the Observation Car. The ones on the right hand side of the Car, are loose at the rear, and the left hand side has a chip in the rear Window. There is some mild surface rust on most of the Wheels and Couplers, that can be easily removed. Or, you can leave them alone, as I have, to give the Set that true “SURVIVOR” appeal. All of the Couplers are in working order, still having their return springs intact. Take a close look at all my pictures and feel free to ask any questions you may have. After a slight cleaning and some fresh lubrication, these. Will make a fine addition to any Lionel Train Collection or Display. Heck out the other Lionel Items I have listed this week.
