Lionel 262 Prewar Steam Engine With 262T Tender. This is a Lionel 262 prewar tinplate steam engine with a 262T tender from 1932. The engine has been restored. The restoration consisted of repainting the engine shell, frame and pilot, polishing the copper and brass trim and rods and cleaning and lubricating the motor and gears. In addition the motor brushes and brush springs were cleaned and lubricated. The tender shell and frame were repainted and the copper and brass trim polished. The tender wheels were cleaned and lubricated. The pair was tested on my O-36 fastrack layout and ran correctly both in forward and reverse.
