O Gauge Lionel 263W Oil Tender Gray for Hudson Whistle Prewar X2998
7.5 enameled metal Vanderbilt type tender was made about 1937 for your early gunmetal 763E Hudson or 263E loco. It has diecast front bulkhead and diecast whistle inside, 6 wheel trucks, manual hood type coupler. It is original gunmetal gray with mostly nickel trim, has brass L plates. Tabs underside are complete, front casting shows minor fatigue, better than most early castings. Wiring shows some insulation loss. Finish is mostly clean, has light to moderate wear, some tarnish on top plate. All Items, including N. (new-old-stock), are graded and represented as vintage collectibles. Operational ability and characteristics or completeness of vintage motors, mechanisms, wiring, bulbs etc are not guaranteed. We do not guarantee coupler operation. O Gauge Lionel 700K 5344 NYC Full Scale Hudson Prewar X7905
Diecast full-scale Hudson made 1937 from a factory kit. Parts are mostly original/ complete, with a few modifications. Main issue is broken/missing corner of cab roof and fatigue/cracking to frame/crack in cab floor. Bottom hole in cab floor for drawbar pin is broken-out. It has correct 5340 nameplate, not signed or dated, has a low 1937 serial number (please dont ask). Loco was vintage-painted, black with silver boiler-front, black on 5344 numbers, 5382 decals on cab. Original pilot has steps thinned/narrowed, small flag holes behind markers, has rear coupling chain, no pin. Cab windows are complete, pony wheels insulated 1 side, not drivers. It did not run when tested, armature moves by hand, wheels are not stuck, but cannot rotate wheels with minimal force. I see no fatigue cracks in cab/boiler, front rides high, maybe raised for operating. Loco only is dusty-dirty. All Items, including N. Lionel prewar O Gauge 763e hudson freight set in the original boxes! – Marvelous
Some wear and very little scratches on the locomotive but the tender and cars are super nice!!! There is some wear on the pickups from use but not too much. This set date back to 1937. Some of the individual boxes are tattered and fragile but still hold up. The gondola has the original barrels and tools all wrapped up which are always missing! The locomotive box has the original cloth wrap which is still intact 80 + years later. I don’t know if the locomotive runs but I was told that the engine runs good but I will list it as untested. The wheels on the locomotive are not fatigued. The set box is all intact with a corner split but other than that, it seems to hold up well. This is one of the nicest pieces I have for sale and not many of these in this condition are out on the market all complete!!!!! This would definitely be something to add to any prewar train collection! UPS is my cheapest option while other companies are 2x higher on their prices. Sorry, no PO boxes accepted.
