LIONEL PREWAR O-GAUGE 225E BLACK DIECAST LOCOMOTIVE W/2235W WHISTLE TENDER. This locomotive is in original black finish with Baldwin drivers, 3 position E unit, and two black flag stanchions. The locomotive runs really well headlight works as does the E unit. The tender is the diecast version with large coal load, black journal boxes, nickel handrails box coupler and silver lettering on both sides. This locomotive comes from my static display and has been displaced by it’s brother in the gunmetal gray minus the terrific tender. There was an inquiry about the electric whistle of the tender, the device works well considering its age, it does infact work the coil lifts the contact plate and the impeller / armature spins. At some point the wiring was updated to the desirable flex type and should perform well for a good long time.
