Lionel Prewar 259 Steam Loco and Whistle & Train Set Pre-War Lionel “FLYING YANKEE” 4 Train SET #616 Engine Lionel PreWar Flying Yankee Set 267W 616-617-617-618 & 3 Vestibules Lionel Prewar #616W Flying Yankee Passenger Set with #616, #617, #617 & # 618. Runs Excellent ln forward and reverse. The whistle works well. The chrome is bright and shinny with some chrome wear. Some gray paint loss on the engine’s nose and some light gray paint loss on the observation car. Everything was cleaned oiled and greased. OLD Lionel PreWar Metal FLYING YANKEE 616 Passenger Toy Train Set. This is for a Lionel Electric Flying Yankee Train Set. It has been on my display shelf for many years and I believe this may be the 1930’s version. Includes a 616 W Metal Steam Locomotive with motor and no whistle, includes 2 x 617 Cars and an 618 Tail Car, plus the 3 vestibules. The vestibles have provisions for lighting, but there are no bulbs or bulb holders. All are old metal lionel pieces and the castings look good. The window celloidis old and are beginning to curl. I bench tested the loco and it works including the e-unit. The pieces are all original, well used and showing their age. It will need some lubrication and a light tune-up. The train needs a light restoration, but nothing bad was observed on it. Please study the pics. Don’t pass up on these unique old train items and let this one get away So hurry if you want it!
