Item: Lionel Steam Locomotive. Box / Condition: none. Description: Lionel Prewar Passenger. This appears to be original, there is rust on the drive gear, tested and it did not run. I have no idea if all the pieces are here, nor do I know if the pieces that are here are original. (Please examine photos closely). Lionel 384 Prewar Standard Gauge 2-4-0 Steam Locomotive with BOX. It’s listed separately. Looks fairly clean, except on one side of the cab. Please see all photos, comes as shown, with box, and rods which will need to be reconnected. I was only able to test this with a DC HO Power pack, the light came on. Lionel Prewar #258 2-4-0 Steam Locomotive w/ 258T Tender – Very Nice! I tested this locomotive and it did run immediately but does need lubrication since it had been in storage for a good while. The headlight also worked perfectly. Please note the reversing lever inside the cab. Engine body is made of sheet metal. Received this locomotive as part of a larger collection. Included in the box was a service receipt from 1991 of items serviced along with the parts in plastic bags that had been replaced on this engine. (see pics) I do not have a trained eye or much knowledge of Prewar Lionel but I would have to believe from the condition of this engine and tender which is very good to excellent that some reconditioning has taken place. This locomotive and tender are very very nice and clean. Also no other research I looked at showed this engine with any flags which were included in a small manila envelope. 384 Steam Loco 2-4-0. Offered for sale is a vintage Lionel PreWar Standard Gauge No. 384 Steam Locomotive 2-4-0 and No. 384T Tender , made 1930 to 1932. When Powered up with 18 volts AC current, this motor lighted and ran well, manual reverse worked. SEE picture while running. The frame was replaced with an MTH stamped casting and the wheels by MEW Model Engineering Works. Tender- looks all original, marked No. 384T and looks in very good shape. Overall, this engine and tender look in very good shape with minor paint scuffs / rubs. Please see the many pictures provided for more details. From zip code 21136.
