This item has been graded per TCA standards C-5: Good. These items were tested by our team. They found that the motor in the locomotive is running and the light works, however the whistle in the tender does not work. The eccentric crank and drive rods on both sides of the locomotive are bent, and there are spots of surface rust on them. There is a missing marker jewel stand and two missing marker jewels. Additionally there are nicks, scratches, and paint blemishes on each item. The instruction manuals are not included. The original boxes are not included. The 226E was one of Lionel’s top of the line engines in the late Pre-war era and many of the tools used to make the 226 were used as the starting point for the Post-war Era 726/736 Berkshires. This powered steam locomotive features a powerful motor, reverse unit, lights, full die-cast construction, and metal wheels. The tender features tinplate metal truck sides with journal boxes, a rear knuckle coupler, and metal wheels and axles. Signs of play wear, scratches, minor paint loss. Small dents, minor rust.
