If my price seems high I want you to know that I usually put 6-10 hours of labor restoring it to the condition it is at now. Plus I usually put Fifty to one Hundred dollars in refurbished or new parts. Sometimes less sometimes more. If you want one cheaper you may have to repair it and its costly. I bought this engine restored sometime ago. Great job but had problems. Wheels damaged and needed cleaning. Everything taken care of now. It is a very nice Lionel 253 Restored Great condition. Has been serviced, some new parts, Tested and runs great in both directions. See picture running is forward and reverse. Older restore, I serviced the motor, Serviced manual reversing switch, and some wire. Wheels are all good now, several new. Run great in both directions. Has a reversing switch on the side.
