The 254 has the reversing manual switch on the side the 254 engines This has been restored and serviced. Vintage/Antique Lionel 254 Original Black & Gold trim color Prewar 0-4-0 Electric engine. Very nice runner, lubed. Check out the pictures. This type engine runs in both direction. Has a manual switch lever on the side to reverse or go forward. Works and runs great. I did put a coat of clear coat over the shell and all the brass to protect it. I does cause some glare on the pictures. I bought this engine with lots of missing parts. Someone long time ago painted this engine with a brush and used water base paint. They even painted all the brass trim some color. Motor did run but need serviced, new wires, cleaned, brushes & lubed. The engine parts and shell plus frame need to be stripped and repainted. What you see you will get. Lots of work spent on this one. Some new parts and all the brass cleaned and polished. We now have a very nice smooth running engine over 90 years old. Did the best I could. Being 80 now it was for the love of these oldies. See pictures for best description. Ead light that work. Look at the pictures and ask questions. You don’t see them like this now a days. Since these are 90 years old and brought back to life. My labor is basically free just a hobby for me. Have to get them back on the road again. Thank you for looking.
