Vintage Pre-war Lionel Standard Guage Train Set No. Comes with Locomotive No. 8 (13 inches long) with headlights; No. 35 Illuminated Pullman car, and No. 36 Illuminated Observation car (each 11 1/2 inches long). Train is 36 inches long. Has 8 sections of original curved track, and 2 sections of original straight track. An additional 4 sections of “newer” straight track is included. Included in original packaging: Set of track connectors w/ box; Extra wiring; Small bottle of oil (empty); 2 round containers for spare bulbs – working bulb is in one container; and a bulb socket plug adaptor. Included in sale is a Lionel Type T Transformer, along with wires and track connector plate. Transformer cloth wire for plug is frayed. No bare wire exposed. This is set up I’ve used to run train under our Christmas tree several times. Overall, set is in very good condition for it’s age. Train operates smoothly, forward and backward. Lights on locomotive and those in two passenger cars work. Balcony on observation car has a dent on lower rail, with some paint loss. All could probably use a bit of a tune-up and light cleaning. The one item in fair shape is transformer. As mentioned above, cloth plug has some frayed areas. Please examine pictures closely for condition issues. As such, items will have wear.
