When I sell a item I go over it completely. Clean everything, make sure it run and replace missing parts, and make sure you have a nice running train. I do spend the time and restore them if in really bad shape. I was asked if it could pull??? I posted a set of 3 passenger cars and they pulled them without any problem easily around the track. This is a very nice Lionel 253 serviced Great condition. I bought this one and it needed restored, and motor repaired. Fix motor problems, and added new solid wheels, I paint the shell after taking out small dents. Cleaned up frame and serviced motor, I have been running this one as my own for several months. Great looking and running engine. Now it runs great in both directions Good wire and manual switch. I list them for what I have in them, cost plus materials. Runs great is both directions.
