This item has been graded per TCA standards C-5: Good based on visual appearance. The boiler front is broken off, but is included. There are a few nicks, dents and paint loss throughout this model. The hand rails are warped and tarnished in a few spots. The wheels & pickups show wear and tarnish from previous use. Some of the couplers and axles show surface rust. There is light grease residue in the underframe of the locomotive. This item has been inspected by our repair shop. Here is a Lionel 226E Vintage O Prewar 2-6-4 Steam Locomotive w/ 2226W Tender from 1938-42. The 226E was one of Lionel’s top of the line engines in the late Prewar era and many of the tools used to make the 226 were used as the starting point for the Postwar Era 726/736 Berkshires. This powered steam locomotive features a powerful motor, reverse unit, lights, full die-cast construction, and metal wheels. The original box is not included.
