Lionel 226E Vintage O Prewar 2-6-4 Steam Locomotive w/ 2226W Tender. Here is a Lionel 226E 2-6-4 Steam Locomotive from 1938-42. The 226E was one of Lionel’s top of the line engines in the late Prewar era and many of the tools used to make the 226 were used as the starting point for the Postwar Era 726/736 Berkshires. This powered steam locomotive features a powerful motor, reverse unit, lights, full die-cast construction, and metal wheels.
