This is a C7 quality, clean, refurbished, and tested Lionel 250-watt Type Z transformer, including its original instructions. The Lionel Type Z was carried over from pre-war production and was available during the postwar period from 1945 until 1947. This Type Z was produced in 1941, before the United States entry into World War II. It is capable of producing 250 Watts of power across four independent circuits, each capable of delivering 6-25 volts. This is of particular value when different types of loads operate best at different voltages. Using this powerhouse, not as pictured in the instruction sheet, but, in conjunction with one or more ZW transformers, to offers the operator of a medium to large layout 4 independent circuits to power such divers loads as.
