The train I believe is all original and it is in nice condition with the Original Master box and car boxes. There are some scratches and a few places with some pitting on the chrome (mostly on the bottom), but this a lovely train. This vintage train was made from about 1935 to 1941. This four car train runs strong, and it can be seen on YouTube at. The train comes with the original boxes for each of the four units: 616W Locomotive along with the rare insert, (2) 617 – Coaches, & 618 Observation. The train has all its windows and handrails. This set also comes with 3 lighted working vestibules, that easily connect. There is a little bit of tape on the master box and the observation car box.

The 100 year old locomotive runs strong, and it can be seen pulling two vintage passenger cars on YouTube at. This locomotive looks to be complete with handrails, light, bell, steps, and trim. There has been some restoration. The motor, wheels, and mechanics are in very good condition. There has been slight repair on one of the non-geared wheels (pictured). The locomotive will be double boxed.

249E Steam Locomotive and No. This pair was produced just prior to WWII from 1936 – 1939. The locomotive & Tender seem to be original and it shows some wear. The color is Gunmetal. There is a little light surface rust mainly around the trucks. It is also missing one of the tender’s back grab rails. The locomotive runs very well. With a lot of power. It easily pulls a five car prewar 800 series train. You can see this nice pair pull that full train on YouTube. They come in Custom Label Lionel Boxes.

The train is in very nice condition, both mechanically and cosmetically, and the full train with cars measures approximately 21 in length. Or handed down in the family and put up for sale. When I sell a item I go over it completely. Clean everything, make sure it run. And replace missing parts, and make sure you have a nice running train. I do spend the time and restore them if in really bad shape. Found this one in need of lots of help. Needed a lot of work. Need taken apart, cleaned, re-wired. Strip and repainted shell. Serviced tested and see video of it running. I painted car to match.. What you see you will get. Everything was polished and cleaned. It was totally refurbished and restored the shell and frame, Lot of work but runs and looks great now. If my price seems high I want you to know that I usually put 6-10+ hours of labor restoring it to the condition it is at now. Plus I usually put Fifty to one Hundred ++ dollars in refurbished or new parts. They are almost impossible to find anymore. And are not cheap. Sometimes less sometimes more. If you want one cheaper you may have to repair it and its costly. Even the new parts do not fit and have to be modified. SEE VIDEO OF IT RUNNING. Thank you for looking You will get the engine you see! If more I will pay. Going to the West coast always cost more.
