And replace missing parts, and make sure you have a nice running train. I do spend the time and restore them if in really bad shape. My trains will run with all parts there. Some are completely restored. Want one that works I have them. Want one to work on there are a lot out there. This is a Lionel 260e engine and 260Tender, Black shells & Green frames. Restored engine, Switches F & R see video. I serviced and Cleaned all the trim. Replaced missing parts, Has newer style e-unit with the lever in the back coming down so you can use it if you w ant. Engine was competly gone over, many new parts, wheels, new e-unit, rewired, trucks rails. Some one broke off the hitch pin in the back for the tender. Then drilled a larger hole and put a screw in, that was not working. Had to drill and tap a new hole and put in a new pin. It now worked great with no problems. When I bought it, it needed work and missing parts. The engine did run so I serviced it. The tender looks like a old original or old restored tender that came with the engine. Camera shows it running slow. That is the camera. It run slow to really fast. I went over and cleaned all the brass and copper. New trucks, Added the missing side rods. I serviced it also. When tested ran OK. All parts where cleaned and polished that were original. Added new parts that were missing or damaged. What you see you will get. I had a lot of time and cost of parts in this set. Part are just not. Try to fined a good one. Anymore and when you find them they are very costly. Restore one and see. Need taken apart, cleaned, re-wired. Strip and repainted shell. Serviced tested and see video of it running. I painted car to match.. What you see you will get. Everything was polished and cleaned. It was totally refurbished and restored the shell and frame, Lot of work but runs and looks great now. If my price seems high I want you to know that I usually put 6-10+ hours of labor restoring it to the condition it is at now. Plus I usually put Fifty to one Hundred ++ dollars in refurbished or new parts. They are almost impossible to find anymore. And are not cheap. Sometimes less sometimes more. If you want one cheaper you may have to repair it and its costly. Even the new parts do not fit and have to be modified. SEE VIDEO OF IT RUNNING. This is a very nice Lionel 253 serviced Great condition. I bought this one and it needed restored, and motor repaired. Fix motor problems, and added new solid wheels, I paint the shell after taking out small dents. Cleaned up frame and serviced motor, I have been running this one as my own for several months. Great looking and running engine. Now it runs great in both directions Good wire and manual switch. I list them for what I have in them, cost plus materials. Runs great is both directions. Service and Has been serviced, Tested and runs. Tested it running in forward and reverse. Antique Prewar Tin Plate Engine. Made in the late 1920’S. Runs F & R, Forward and reverse. Great for your layout! In used played with condition. Looks to have been rewired. Will need the post in the cab where the tender hooks up to (draw bar pin). Light bulb has been installed inside cab. Overall loco is in C7 shape. Slight chip on front of cow catcher/pilot & cab is straight with no bends. Both jewel markers are present. Great Piece to run on the layout!!

Vintage 248 Black Electric Loco. Came from a estate sale original owners. It need some really extensive work. Painted the shell and frame, They were really rough and well played with over the years. Lots of cleaning, Missing light I installed a new one. I replace the wheels. New light bulb and several new screws. I did service and lubed the engine and replaced one damaged gear. I do spend the time and restore them if in really bad shape. Original Lionel 250 shells did not have a slot on top for reversing switch’s. When they started making the 252 they had parts from 250 shell. To use them up the made some 252 with them rather than cut the slot in them. This is one of them. This is a very nice Lionel 252 serviced Great condition. I had this shell and frame probably restored by me awhile ago. Overhaul the motor, wheels, good wire. Lionel made the 250 pre 252 with no reversing switch. Look at the top, no slot for the reversing switch handle. Lionel later added the switch and cut a slot in top for lever and called it 252. See the VIDEO of it running. I list them for what I have in them, cost plus materials. Runs great is both directions. Service and Has been serviced, Tested and runs. Tested it running in forward.
