Lionel 224E gunmetal finish prewar locomotive & 1689W tender. Nice clean original loco. I have been running this on my layout, and it runs great FNR all function properly, including the headlight. There is some spotting on the paint typical of this paint. She is a real beauty. The 1689W tender is in great condition also, and pairs nice with the 224E loco. The whistle works fine. There may be small areas of oxidation on either one. The motors and whistles I list are serviced, ready to install and enjoy.

I know nothing about trains and have no way to test any of them. We are just hoping they can go to someone who can use them and appreciate them. I believe this is a pre-war locomotive steam engine. It looks like it is marked 229. Marked on bottom made in the US of America, the Lionel Corp. As you can see, it has some rust and dirt. Please look at pictures for condition.

Hello this listing is for a Lionel Lines Prewar O Gauge 2-4-2 Locomotive 1664 Engine & 1689W Tender with Cars 1679 Baby Ruth Boxcar with 1680 Shell Tanker with 1682 Caboose. These items are untested in fair used condition with some wear marks and rust as pictured. The locomotive has corrosion on some surfaces and heavy wear as shown. The tender has scuffs on top and heavy wear as shown and most couplers are bent on all cars. These items are untested and may not work at all and should be considered non-functional. All parts are vintage original. Pictures are of the actual items that you will receive. All used items cleaned, tested and inspected unless noted in the listing and description of any flaws. This is for a Lionel Prewar Train – 1664 Locomotive 2-4-2 & 1689W Whistle Tender – which I believe is a correct match from what I can tell, although there are people out there who know more about pre-war trains than me. Overall in great condition – a strong runner, both forwards and reverse, with a good whistle. E unit is fine and no problems. Looks like the cow catcher has been repaired at some point in its life – see close up pictures. It’s a great engine and one that I have run consistently since it is a so dependable.
