These tough cars are in VG-EX- condition overall. Both show nice bright colors and nice graphics. No dents or rust. Sone typical paint imperfections and chipping. Cars have latch couplers, nickel journals and cars have interior lighting. The boxes are original and in nice condition. Both are solid with original factory tape. Two inner flaps are missing and part of one outer flap is missing. Tape repairs on on box. Please see photos as they are an important part of the description. NO SET BOX WAS FOUND. ENGINE BOX IS BEST IN ALL AROUND CONDITION WITH ALL FLAPS STILL INTACT! STILL VERY FIRM WITH ONLY A FEW BLEMS AS SHOWN IN PHOTOS. THE 2 COACH BOXES HAVE ONE END FLAP STILL INTACT AND MISSING FLAPS ON OTHER ENDS. THE OBSERVATION CAR BOX HAS BOTH END FLAPS MISSING AND THERE MAY BE A TEAR OR TWO HERE AND THERE. I PUT A DAB OF LIGHT WEIGHT OIL ON ARMATURE SHAFTS AND GEARS AND WAS SURPRISED JUST HOW SMOOTH AND FAIRLY QUIET MOTOR SOUNDED IN RUNNING BACK AND FORTH AS CLEARLY CAN BE SEEN IN VIDEO. THE WHISTLE UNIT MOTOR DOES SPIN AND WHISTLE RELAY DOES WORK, BUT WHISTLE WILL NOT SOUND OFF BECAUSE FROM WHAT I CAN SEE, MOST IF NOT ALL OF THE IMPELLER AIR FINS HAVE DISINEGRATED. IF YOU WANT AN OPERATING WHISTLE, YOU WILL EITHER HAVE TO GET IT REPAIRED OR REPLACE WITH ANOTHER WHISTLE UNIT. ENGINE LOOKS GOOD EXCEPT FOR SOME PAINT CHIPS JUST ABOVE WINDSHIELD AS AGAIN CAN BE CLEARLY SEEN. CARS ALL LOOK PRETTY GOOD TO ME, BUT EXAMINE ALL PHOTOS FOR YOURSELF TO DETERMINE. A pre war Lionel Steam locomotive and tender. Boxes have internal corrugated piece but no end flaps. #1666- Lionel 2-6-2 “0” gauge steam locomotive. Number plate & 2 piece bell version. Unit runs very well both directions. Does not appear to be a smoke unit. #2666W- Lionel Lines Whistle Tender. Lionel Lines tender shows some minor nicks. Whistle makes noise when activated but does not. Make the familiar Lionel tender sound. Note the early tender coupling type. A nice example of a late 40’s vintage “O” scale locomotive. Used Lionel Prewar No. 260E O Gauge Locomotive and Tender w/Original Loco and Tender Box. Original Outer Locomotive box as well. Runs, forward and Reverse. Paint has some wear. 260E O Gauge Locomotive and Tender w/Loco Box. This is a Used Lionel Prewar No. 260E O Gauge Locomotive and Tender. The locomotive has its original box along with both inner boxes and original flags. The boxes have some wear as there are some small tears and some stains, but is pretty good considering it is prewar. The locomotive runs strong forward. Also runs in reverse after the unit warms up a little. The headlight along with a yellow glow under the cab all operational. Both the tender and locomotive have some paint wear and a little surface rust on the locomotive. Overall it is a beautiful untouched original. Ready for easy restoration if you so choose. Lionel Prewar Standard Gauge Two Tone Green State Cars with the original boxes. The cars have very few nicks or scratches but are in very nice condition!!!! All four cars have nothing missing inside. All toilets and chairs are present. From what I can see from the pickups, these cars were barely used!!!!! There are no dents on the roofs. All labels are present. Some of the couplers are bent but can easily be bent back slowly. One of the grabrails is loose so please keep that in mind. All of the casted journals are intact with no pieces missing. The back deck is slightly out of line but can easily be fixed! No rust on any of the cars!!! The boxes are a bit rough but they are very sturdy. Some of them are missing flaps. I don’t know if the cars light up but the wiring seems to be ok. These cars are one of the nicest I’ve seen in a while and would look fantastic with a nice 381e locomotive!! You will not find nicer cars than these especially with the original boxes! This will be a heavy box!!!!! Sorry, no PO boxes accepted.
