The one side of the tunnel is slightly tweaked (doesn’t sit completely flat). Tunnel shows some minor wear, staining and paint loss. Tunnel would benefit from a cleaning. Box is in pretty rough shape. Shows staining, wear, missing flap, and some writing. Still a rare box to have. Feel free to ask any questions.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. The lights behind each house were functional when tested. Some of the house pieces have been re-painted. There’s several spots throughout the tunnel where rust has ate through the metal leaving a small hole. The tunnel shows rusting and paint loss throughout much of the body. The overall appearance of this item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is not included. Here is a Lionel 140L Vintage O/Standard Gauge Prewar Illuminated Tunnel. This tunnel forms a 90-degree curve. Though made of steel, it represented a snow-capped mountain that was home to seven small houses. Its ends were embossed to resemble stone tunnel portals. It was approximately 20 inches tall and had a 24 1/2 x 37 inch footprint. One bulb was installed near each portal for illumination. Minor scratches and paint nicks, minor surface rust, no dents. Mint BOXED Lionel Original Prewar #123 Scenic Tunnel. As good as it gets! All original with no touchup or repaint ever. The paint is crisp, bright, clean, and in perfect condition. The tunnel has no cracks or holes. A couple of small shrubs are loose, but intact. Inside the tunnel is like new, with no signs of track ever being laid inside.
