This is in VG condition. There is some wear to the finish in spots on the engine and tender. This was only made in 1930 with the cream stripe. I just had it services and it runs great and the light works. This was kept in a spare Bedroom of an occupied home so it was in a climate-controlled environment. Lionel #260E with 8 wheel Tender. The engine has a cream stripe that has an indent running in the middle. The tender has a solid cream stripe. This was only produced in 1930. This engine has been tested and run great. I don’t see any cracks or chips. My listing will be “as is” because I cannot guarantee a complete and accurate description. All Original Early First Run 1930 Only Lionel Prewar 260E with a Beautiful Original Cream Stripe! Locomotive is in Very Good “play condition” and has what’s left of an original Box. Will need servicing and adjusting if you plan to operate. Front trucks and trailing trucks will need minor adjusting. This is a 95 year old antique toy and it has not been tested. And play wear but non the less a scarce locomotive!

Very rare variation of 262 enameled metal and diecast 2-4-2 loco, made early 1930’s. Loco is gloss black with mostly copper trim, brass plates, has factory orange stripe on frame and details on pilot. Orange detail is all original, but shows wear. Pilot is missing 1 tooth, otherwise frame is original/complete and solid. There is a crack at brass air tank 1 side. Cab has a bend in rear of roof, boiler front latches as it should, copper trim has tarnish. Wheels are all solid originals, few spots on side rods. Motor ran and hand-reversed with switch in cab, headlight worked. Loco has issues as noted, but a very rare variation. All Items, including N. (new-old-stock), are graded and represented as vintage collectibles. Operational ability and characteristics or completeness of vintage motors, mechanisms, wiring, bulbs etc are not guaranteed. Enameled metal New Haven type electric on 8.75 frame. It has original peacock finish with orange stripe at bottom edge, usually means a SPECIAL, possibly Macy. Finish is clean, has some wear, mostly edges as shown, brass trim, orange stripe matches orange windows. Headlight castings are replacement, probably some new wiring, disc-type wheels look like solid/clean originals. Motor has a 3-position E-unit reverse unit, no “E” stamped or on plates, so it probably has been added. There is no E-unit shut-off switch, but loco ran/reversed fine, lights worked when bench tested. Must sell as is, due to age. Not technically correct, but all Lionel parts, runs and looks fine, and an uncataloged variation! All Items, including N. (new-old-stock), are graded and represented as vintage collectibles.
