This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. A few spots appear to be repainted. There is a difference in texture and spots of streaking in the paint on the locomotive. There is tarnish and discoloration on the brass trim pieces. There is wear and tarnish on the wheels from previous use. The side rods are discolored and worn. This item has been inspected by our repair shop. Call it a Torpedo style, call it the first Silver Bullet, but call it yours before someone else does. This is a classic looking engine and tender produced by Lionel in the mid to late 1930’s. The streamlined style really gives it that great classic toy train look. The 1688 is one of the ones collectors and operates alike love to have. Serviced and running, reversing.
