Set of 3 enameled metal 8.75 cars, pullmans and observation, were made mid 1930’s for a Quackenbush Hardware store special set. Cars would go with your 261E or 262E loco, are original terra cotta with cream inserts, stamped lettering, maroon roofs. They are illuminated, have copper journals on spring-embossed trucks, truck clips are 1934 and later type. They have latch couplers, clear window plastic and are illuminated. Original finish has wear, mainly roofs and edges/corners, lettering is mostly readable, a few wear spots. Rare and attractive set of cars, can be quite hard to find. All Items, including N. (new-old-stock), are graded and represented as vintage collectibles. Operational ability and characteristics or completeness of vintage motors, mechanisms, wiring, bulbs etc are not guaranteed. Vintage American American Flyer prewar 4687 Presidents special s. This wonderful four piece set measures 76 inches at full length. Each piece measures approximately 18 inches long. The Engine weighs around 6 pounds. Annapolis and West Point labeled trains indicate a US Military theme, hence the President’s Special title. The train has not been run since my father-in-law bought it in the early 90’s, when he bought it in operational condition. But with full disclosure, we have not run it since, but we have no reason to believe there are any defects with the mechanical components.
