Greetings and best wishes from Mr. Allied and welcome to my sale! Please have confidence in my 100% honest descriptions and please read the following carefully. This is an Original, No. 2020 Locomotive & No. 6020W Whistle Tender, Produced by The Master Craftsmen of The Lionel Corporation, Circa 1948. This a model of the famous Pennsylvania Railroad S-2 “Steam Turbine” locomotive. The loco is very heavy diecast metal, while the tender has a stamped steel frame and a heavy plastic body. This loco & tender have been nicely restored, while still preserving much of the originality. The locomotive boiler and boiler front have been repainted, but the original “2020” numbering was preserved. The “Keystone” decal on the boiler front was replaced, as was the headlight lens. The wires to the whistle were replaced with that wonderful “super flex” wire. The black paint on the tender body was ever so lightly touched up. In the side photos, the side rods appear to be tarnished, but they are not. I took the additional photos of the side rods at an angle and you can see that they are bright & shiny. I track tested it and it runs beautifully, forward, neutral & reverse. The headlight works and the smoke units works. The whistle blows loud & strong. The electro-magnetic coupler on the tender works as well. Anyway, these old eyes don’t see like they used to, so I ask that you take the time to “ZOOM IN” and look the photos over very closely, to determine for yourself just what we have here. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PHOTOS ARE AN INTEGRAL and a VERY IMPORTANT PART OF THIS LISTING. You NEED to “ZOOM IN” and STUDY the photos very carefully. What you see is what you get.
