LIONEL PREWAR 224 WITH BLACKEN RAILS AND SQUARE CAB, 2224W DIECAST TENDER IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND THE HARDER TO FIND VERSION, CYCLES ON COMMAND NOTHING BROKEN OR MISSING OR CRACKED, THE TENDER WHISTLE WORKS PERFECTLY, I REMOVED THE DIE-CAST SHELL TO INSPECT THE WHISTLE AND IT HAS HAD A VERY NICE REPAIR WERE THE RELAY ATTACHES TO THE WHISTLE (SMALL TAB THAT HOLDS THE RELAY) DOES NOT AFFECT OPERATION WHAT SO EVER, ALSO I DID NOTICE ONE SCREW THAT HOLDS THE SHELL IN PLACE IS A PHILLIPS SHOULD BE A STRAIGHT SLOT, SOME OF THESE 224 ENGINES WERE FLAT BLACK AND VERY FEW WERE GLOSSY AS THIS ONE IS, COMES WITH THE VERY NICE LINER AND PARCEL BOX MISSING EVERYTHING BUT IS INCLUDED, NO TENDER BOX, SO PLEASE ZOOM IN AND LOOK AT ALL OF THE PICTURES THEY ARE A PART OF THE DESCRIPTION AND WITH ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE MESSAGE ME AND THANKS FOR LOOKING. Anyone looking for a PreWar 224 in uncompromising condition should love this one. It is the 1945 version (floor squared along back) which is significantly harder to locate than the 1946 unit. The black hand rails make it even a greater find!! The entire unit has been restored down to the last nut and bolt. It has been cleaned, E-unit rebuilt, rewired, lubed, brushes, and all else contained in the word restored. Lots of resources involved to leave you breathless as you try to say WOW!
