Here’s what I know. Markers are intact, engine runs, e-unit works but sometimes the engine needs to be shaken front/to-back to get the sequencing started.. Valve rods, top and bottom stirrups, and bottom stirrup hex rivets are incorrect. The heads on these hex rivets should be thin, but what’s here are thick, to the point of the drive rods rubbing against them when it runs. Not sure if flaking drive rods are original. Valve rod on right side of engine (from engineer’s point of view) does not move back and forth. On the other side, the stirrup which I believe was press-fitted into the valve gear support is super-glued in place. One or several of these issues cause the engine to bind when running. I have to rotate the wheels manually to correct things, but not sure which is causing the binding. The two intermediate gears between the three geared drive wheels seem a little loose on their posts but don’t cause any binding. The front coupler is missing the hook, and the wire to activate it is loose. 227 on boiler front of engine. 2227B tender lettering is faded one side. Bell works most the time and light works. Not sure if plugs are original, and the rubber grommets for them are missing. Maybe this one is best as a shelf piece. That means I will point out any flaws I may find, so you won’t have any negative surprises when your item arrives. If that is the case, please just let me know, and I will make it right!
