This Lionel prewar standard gauge set comes with a Lionel square #40 set box. The locomotive is black in color and the passenger cars are olive green. The wheel configuration is 0-4-0 and the scale is standard scale. The control system is analog and the power type is AC. This vintage set was manufactured in the United States circa 1930 and requires C-2 restoration. It also features a light function and is suitable for three-rail system. The age level is 17 years and up. This Lionel set is perfect for model railroads and trains enthusiasts and collectors alike. There are trim pieces [see all photos] on locomotive. Passenger cars are bottom [see photos] stamped MADE IN U. A THE LIONEL CORPORATION NEW YORK Loco was bench tested and runs. The two passenger cars with lighting pick-ups were tested and illumination works. This also comes with a original Lionel #40 set box that for its age is very nice. Has vivid colors and frayed edges inside [see photos] and outside of the boxes. This would make an excellent project to be restored.
