For sale is a vintage 1963 Lionel Post War Flat Car with Sterling Rocket #6407, featuring a red flatcar and a red, white, and blue rocket. This was produced in 1963 only, on a RED No. The Rocket has a Blue Capsule (Variation A) and it does not have the rare pencil sharpener. A Crack is noticeable on the capsule. See picture for details. This O gauge model is ready to go and pre-built, measuring 11 inches in length. This would make a great addition to any train or toy collection.

THE CAR LAMPS ARE BRASS, AND THE BED ASSEMBLY IS PRESS STEEL. IT FEATURES DUAL ROLLER PICK-UPS AND LATCH COUPLERS. WIRES SEEM TO BE IN VERY GOOD CONDITON. I PUT IT ON A TEST TRACK, AND ONLY ONE LAMP LIGHT UP. THE OTHER PROBABLE NEEDS A NEW BULB OR PRESENT ONE NEEDS TIGHTENED. THE TRUCKS/AXLES/WHEELS ARE NICE AND SHINNY. I BOUGHT THIS YEARS AGO IN A HUGH LOT OF MOSTLY LIONEL ITEMS. I’VE NEVER RUN IT. IN MY OPINION, IT IS COLLECTORS’ QUALITY. LOOK CLOSE AT PICTURES AND YOU JUDGE FOR YOURSELF.
