I bought this as original with many problems, Need taken apart, cleaned, re-wired, need couplers, and wheels. Everything was polished and cleaned. It was totally refurbished and tried to keep the shell and frame original plus lights. Lost of work but runs and looks great now. Pendent type e-unit sometimes a little sticky but works most of the time. They are a pain. If my price seems high I want you to know that I usually put 6-10+ hours of labor restoring it to the condition it is at now. Plus I usually put Fifty to one Hundred ++ dollars in refurbished or new parts. They are almost impossible to find anymore. And are not cheap. Sometimes less sometimes more. If you want one cheaper you may have to repair it and its costly. Even the new parts do not fit and have to be modified. Tested it running in forward and reverse. I serviced the motor, Serviced manual reversing switch, Antique Prewar Tin Plate Engine. Made in the late 1920’S. Runs F & R, Great runner Forward and reverse. Look at the picture. This is a very nice Lionel 252 serviced Great condition. I had clean all the brass, wheels are in like new shape, serviced and rewired. Has a e-unit for forward/reverse and a manual switch on top for e-unit switching or run in one directions only. Cleaned up very nice. New two tone green paint. Green frame and lighter green shell.
