Use the pictures to determine condition for yourself. All of the gears and knobs work, the boom raises and lowers the cab spins around 365° and the hook string raises and lowers however, it could use new string. The string is very brittle probably original it breaks every time I try to tie the hook to it.

This is not your ordinary Lionel 219 crane car, this one is motorized and is controlled from the cab. It is in clean, like new condition, with original box, instructions, and packing. This has not been operated. I have tested it and the crane raises and lowers, the hook raises and lowers, and the body rotates on the frame. Also has an electromagnet. Hard to find item in like new condition.

PLEASE REVIEW THE PICTURES AS THEY ARE PART OF THE DESCRIPTION!! Box is very worn. This nice example is the very sought after Type III from 1941 – 1942, with black journal boxes, simulated knuckle couplers, and a “Deep Dish” frame. I’ll describe this as “near collector” because close examination shows some touch up paint work and there is a slight amount of oxidation on the rear trucks… Hopefully you can see this in the pictures. The only notable blemishes are the boom elevator and hook retractor knobs. Please note they DO work as does the cab rotation knob. Having pointed these things out…. The crane remains a collector item that is not easy to find…. Especially in the overall condition this crane is.
