Here is a Lionel 400E Standard Gauge 4-4-4 Steam Locomotive & Tender from 1936-39. The 400E is Lionel’s largest Standard Gauge Steam Locomotive and is the engine many people think of when they think Standard Gauge. It is nearly three feet long and features include a working headlight and red fire box glow light. This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good. Take a look that this beautiful Vintage Standard Gauge 4-4-4 Steam Locomotive and Tender! You will not want to miss this beautiful Vintage Standard Gauge 4-4-4 Steam Locomotive and Tender! This set is in overall Very Good condition, with just a few minor imperfections. There are nicks and scratches along the surface of both the tender and locomotive. There are some cracks in the paint of the silver trim pieces. The locomotive frame is original but is slightly warped with some cracking along the edges. Also, the steam chest assembly is original with minor cracks as well. Some areas of paint have been touched up and the boiler front is not an original piece. When tested, our team found that the engine runs smooth but the e-unit sticks sometimes. They also found that the tender whistle tries to work but is very raspy. The overall appearance of this item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. The original box is not included. The instruction manual is not included. Check the photos for a detailed look at this item. Overall condition is Very Good. Heavy and huge piece!

This is a prewar 156 4-4-4 Lionel engine. It is the largest of the 150 series and has front and rear trucks. I also has another one to sell. Has the side slide manual switch to reverse and forward the engine. I restore many of these but save this one and another one listed. Out side pictures with sun are light, best color are the inside pictures. No problems here like all my engines. This one was gone over 100% & restored by me for me. Runs great picture of it running. Little costly because of what I paid and what I put in it. Want a sharp runner here it is. Look at my feedback. The engine parts and shell plus frame was stripped and repainted using Lionel Dr. Green Paint What you see you will get. Lots of work spent on this one. New wire service totally. We now have a very nice smooth running engine over 90+ years old. Did the best I could. Being 80 now it was for the love of these oldies. See pictures for best description. Ead light that work. Look at the pictures and ask questions. You don’t see them like this now a days. Since these are 90+ years old and brought back to life. My labor is basically free just a hobby for me. OFFERING AN ORIGINAL LIONEL 381E 4-4-4 ELECTRIC. MADE IN AMERICA 1928-36. NO BOXES OR INSTRUCTIONS. STATE GREEN WITH APPLE GREEN SUBFRAME. THE ENGINE HAD BEEN IN STORAGE FOR DECADES HIDDEN AWAY. WE BOUGHT THIS ESTATE CONTAINING NUMEROUS PRE WAR TRAINS. THE ENGINE NEEDS TLC BUT SHE RUNS. IT LOOKS LIKE THE DRIVE WHEELS MAY HAVE BEEN REPLACED AT SOME TIME. THE MOTOR IS LOOSE AND RAN RIGHT AWAY. COSMETICALLY SHE NEEDS HELP. I THINK THE MAIN HANDRAILS ARE ALL THERE BUT IT NEEDS SOME NEW STANCHIONS. IT NEEDS 2 NEW PANTOGRAPHS AND 2 HEADLIGHT HOUSINGS. MISSING ONE DETAIL BEHIND THE PANTOGRAPH. BOTH COUPLERS NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE LEAD AND TRAILING TRUCK WHEELS HAVE METAL FATIGUE AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. NO APPARENT MAJOR DINGS IN THE METAL. New York Central RR. Made 1917 to 1923. Manual Reverse + Light. Offered for sale is a vintage Lionel PreWar O Gauge No. 156 Locomotive 4-4-4 PLUS Two (2) No. 610 Pullmans and One (1) No. 612 Observation Coach , all in nicely redone shape. When Powered up with 12 volts AC current, this engine lighted and ran well on the test track, the manual reverse switch also worked.
