Made 1930 to 1932. Offered for sale is a vintage c1930-32 Lionel PreWar No. 384E Steam Loco 2-4-0 & No. 384T Tender, with original boxes, that ran when tested, the wheels were replaced and there is some paper tape repair of boxes. When Powered up with 0-18 volts AC current, analog, this engine ran well and lighted. The reverse unit usually worked, but sometimes not. Those early reverse units were not that reliable. PROVENANCE -this engine comes from the New Oxford PA Train Museum, which was run for many years by Fred Gable, he leased the old Western Maryland Railroad Station in New Oxford. Unfortunately, Fred passed not long ago at age 95. This engine was part of the museum display. Original Boxes – Includes original Loco & Tender Boxes. They look in good overall shape with 2 missing flaps and some paper tape repairs, as pictured. Overall, this Loco & Tender Set look in excellent shape with no damage noted. The Wheels were replaced with Bowser Wheels. Please see the many pictures provided for more details. We provide the best description we can, but we’re not experts in many items offered for sale. These items have been in storage for many years. They will all most likely need TLC from sitting. None of the items have been tested, unless indicated otherwise in description. Here is an absolutely GORGEOUS Lionel Prewar Standard Gauge passenger train set that is over 90 years old! It consists of a 384E steam locomotive, 384T tender, 2 of the 337 coaches, and a 338 observation car. This whole set has been professionally restored and looks great! The set itself is restored Prewar Lionel. The tender is embossed with Lionel as shown in pictures, and the loco also says Lionel on the sides. The passenger cars are also vintage restored Lionel items. It looks like very close to what you would have seen Christmas Morning 90 years ago! Locomotive ran when I tested it. Has been on a shelf display for awhile, so would be advisable to clean and lube before running a great deal. Only minor thing I saw is that a couple handrail clips are a bit loose on one of the locomotive handrails. Don’t miss this beautiful set! It will look great under your Christmas Tree!
