Lionel Prewar 1666 Locomotive with 2666W Tender with Box Coupler. This is a prewar Lionel 1666 2-6-2 Locomotive with a 2666W tender produced in the 1938-42 period. The locomotive features nickel rimmed drivers, headlight, detailed valve gear, die cast trailing truck, and a moveable ornamental bell. Both cowcatcher steps are intact. The locomotive motor, E-unit, and bearings were cleaned and lubricated-everything works. The 3-position E-Unit works smoothly and the headlight works too. The squared cab floor indicates prewar production. The underside of the tender is stamped 2666W. The whistle motor was cleaned and lubricated. It was tested and it works. The box coupler works also. The draw bar was replaced. New contact sliders were installed in the bottom contact plate.
