Lionel 249E Prewar Steam Engine With 265T Tender. This is a Lionel 249E prewar tinplate steam engine with a 265T tender from 1936-39. The engine has been restored. The restoration consisted of repainting the engine shell, frame and pilot, polishing the nickel trim and rods and cleaning and lubricating the motor and gears. In addition the motor brushes and brush springs were cleaned and lubricated. The tender shell and frame were repainted and the nickel trim polished. The tender wheels were cleaned and lubricated. The pair was tested on my O-36 fastrack layout and ran correctly both in forward and reverse. This pair is in C7 condition and can be displayed or operated. 1936 variation Commodore Vanderbilt loco made for Red Comet Set. It has some new wiring, possibly a replaced E-unit reverse, does not have shut-off switch showing, but is in ON position and worked/reversed when tested. Unusual example because the diecast cab is solid, no fatigue, but casting and loco do have overall playwear as shown. Includes matching 265T non-whistling tender. Loco and tender, 16.5 long together. Tender coupler looks like a replacement. Very hard to find with a solid cab casting. All Items, including N. (new-old-stock), are graded and represented as vintage collectibles.
