Lionel Commodore Vanderbilt prewar O-gauge 2-4-2 Type III (3) black 264E steam locomotive & 2225T non-whistling tender. I’m not an expert, but it appears to have been repainted at some point in its past before I acquired it (very professionally done). There is some wheel wear, so it’s been run a few times. Includes a well-worn box for the locomotive only (no tender box).

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. There are light nicks, scratches, and spots of surface rust on both the locomotive and tender. Both the locomotive and tender show a few spots of paint wear, chips, and abrasions. The overall appearance of these items may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. Box coupler included is broken and missing the black portion. The wheels show signs of wear from previous use. The instruction manuals and original boxes are not included. LIONEL PREWAR O GAUGE RESTORED #264E AND #264T RED COMET set from the 1930’s. It barely lurched forward and backward and then hummed. It seemed to be off balance? The condition I would say is Excellent, but please, please look at the photos and ask any questions to help you make your own evaluation. ALL items come from a smoke free home and have been carefully displayed or stored in a climate controlled environment. ALL items will be carefully packaged for their protection. Lionel prewar red Commodore Vanderbilt locomotive and tender. Both pieces are original and appear to be complete. The tender has a sticker on the underside stating it has been restored, so I will assume the locomotive has been restored as well. Beautifully restored Lionel 6511E passenger set. The set includes a 264E locomotive a 265W tender two illuminated 1685 transition pullmans and a illuminated 1687 transition observation car. All pieces were dismantled stripped and repainted. The 264E engine was serviced runs forward and back. The whistle in the tender works but is weak. The rare 1685 Ives Lionel transition cars are over 12 long. Happy to answer any questions.
