Diecast streamlined CM&StP Hiawatha loco, made 1935 to early 40s, with 250W metal tender that has drawbar for streamlined passenger cars. Loco and tender only in this listing, are matched early pair, has sheet-metal front truck and weight in loco cab and early type whistle in tender. L&T are about 22.5 long together, made for wide-radius 072 track. Original finish has some wear, mostly edges and pilot on loco, finish is stable, not flaking. Tender finish has a bit more wear as shown. Loco was difficult to get running, but finally did after cleaning E-unit and exercise. It still may be a bit finicky and 2 drive wheels have slight fatigue-swell, ran OK on straight track. Tender whistle was loose on mount and not grounded right, so a rubber shim and ground wire were added. Whistle motor runs, but not much whistle sound. Early whistle chambers tended to leak air, causing this situation. All Items, including N. (new-old-stock), are graded and represented as vintage collectibles.
