Vintage American American Flyer prewar 4687 Presidents special s. This wonderful four piece set measures 76 inches at full length. Each piece measures approximately 18 inches long. The Engine weighs around 6 pounds. Annapolis and West Point labeled trains indicate a US Military theme, hence the President’s Special title. The train has not been run since my father-in-law bought it in the early 90’s, when he bought it in operational condition. But with full disclosure, we have not run it since, but we have no reason to believe there are any defects with the mechanical components. Enameled metal New Haven style electric loco, made late 1920’s to early 30’s is unusual maroon original finish, has gold windows, brass trim, black frame with brass spoke overlays on pilots. It has some new wiring, 1 new cast headlight, one PU roller is missing and wheels may be vintage replacements. Wheels roll fine, have no fatigue. Finish has playwear, most wear on roof edge and roof monitor. It has manual reverse and also appears to have distant-control auto reverse. It was bench tested, ran and manual reversed, auto reverse not tested. All Items, including N. (new-old-stock), are graded and represented as vintage collectibles. Operational ability and characteristics or completeness of vintage motors, mechanisms, wiring, bulbs etc are not guaranteed. We do not guarantee coupler operation.
