LIONEL LINES PRE-WAR #225E ENGINE & TENDER LOT #P-59. LOOK at this Lionel Lines Pre-War Gray #225E Engine and Tender! What a great addition to your layout or collection! I sprayed contact cleaner on engine, bench tested it, and engine runs good forward and reverse! Just like the day I got it! This engine has been sitting on my shelf for years. With bell, stack, railings. Missing one jewel in front. Good condition overall for age with minor playwear and chips. Lionel Lines Tender also sprayed contact cleaner turned it on side tested and whistled, has good lettering both couplers, railings & ladders. As with all engines this age, I recommend lube and light service, may need another spray of contact cleaner to run. Look CLOSELY at all the pictures as they are part of the description. Enameled metal box-cab electric loco on 11 frame is a high-grade example, mostly original. It has some new wiring, and possibly 1 replacement strap headlight, otherwise all original including good-solid original wheels. Early variation loco was made late 1920’s, is original maroon with combo brass and nickel trim, black frame with combo couplers, strap headlights. Finish is clean with only light edge wear on frame and on roof monitor. Thick/glossy maroon finish shows minor runs as it should from factory dip-painting. It ran and hand-reversed, lights worked when bench tested. Loco should be an upgrade for most anyone. 1 front vent has a minor ding. All Items, including N. (new-old-stock), are graded and represented as vintage collectibles. Operational ability and characteristics or completeness of vintage motors, mechanisms, wiring, bulbs etc are not guaranteed. Some minor scratches and dings here and there please see photos for condition. The locomotive is in great shape the only issue is the non-geared side of the wheels are beginning to deteriorate. And will need to be replaced. The motor runs great in both directions and everything looks great. The boxes that are included are from other trains they are mismatch boxes.
