Lionel Prewar #258 2-4-0 Steam Locomotive w/ 258T Tender – Very Nice! I tested this locomotive and it did run immediately but does need lubrication since it had been in storage for a good while. The headlight also worked perfectly. Please note the reversing lever inside the cab. Engine body is made of sheet metal. Received this locomotive as part of a larger collection. Included in the box was a service receipt from 1991 of items serviced along with the parts in plastic bags that had been replaced on this engine. (see pics) I do not have a trained eye or much knowledge of Prewar Lionel but I would have to believe from the condition of this engine and tender which is very good to excellent that some reconditioning has taken place. This locomotive and tender are very very nice and clean. Also no other research I looked at showed this engine with any flags which were included in a small manila envelope.
