This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent. This stunning set is rare to find complete. However, not only is this set intact, but is in impeccable condition! The beautiful sheen of paint on each item is so vibrant and glossy it appears new. As expected of an original prewar set there are a few small scratches and nicks in the paint, though nothing large or overtly noticeable. Unbelievably, this set appears original and contains the flathead screws on the locomotive as opposed to the philips head screws on most reproductions. One railing trim at the rear of the locomotive cab has a broken tab and is loose. Included in this set is a gray tender. While this is admittedly a bit unusual. Included are: 263E 2-4-2 Steam Locomotive and 2263W grayTender, 2613 Pullman, 2614 Observation, and 2615 Baggage car. This set is from 1938. The locomotive features a tinplate shell with a motor, reverse unit, operating headlamop, decorative whistle and bell, metal side rods, metal wheels and axles. The tender features tinplate construction with stamped metal trucks, journal boxes, whistle, automatic box coupler, metal wheels and axles. The passenger cars feature tinplate construction with stamped metal trucks, jounal boxes, interior illumination, metal wheels and axles. Each car measures approximately 10 inches in length. Even the original prewar transformer is included! While this is admittedly a bit unusual, it appears original as well and features a stamped 2263W on the underside. Not only is this spectacular set original and complete but the original separate boxes, and instruction booklet are included! However, the locomotive box liner is not original. The tender box does not have a liner, The 2615 box is missing all flaps at one end. The 2613 box is missing two flaps at one end and one flap at the opposite end. The 2614 box hs two broken flaps at one end. This is a set you do not want to miss out on; one in this condition is a rarity! Overall condition is Excellent. All original: minute scratches and paint nicks; no rust or missing parts; no distortion of parts.
