This is an Original, Lionel, Pre-War “O” Gauge, Lionel Jr. Set, Produced by the Master Craftsmen of The Lionel Corporation, 28 Sager Place, Irvington, New Jersey, Circa 1937 or so. These sets were “uncataloged” special sets, usually for department stores. Included are the 1689E loco & tender and the 1673, 1674 & 1675 passenger cars, which are unnumbered. I believe this set to be 100% original, with the exception of the tender, which appears to have been repainted. The loco runs forward and reverse & lights up. The whole set could use a good cleaning and oiling, as it has been sitting for decades. Anyway, these old eyes don’t see like they used to, so I ask that you take the time to “ZOOM IN” and look the photos over very closely, to determine for yourself just what we have here.
