At age 81, it is time to sell all of my sporting collectibles. You will find all of them appealing and in superb condition. Briefly, let me tell you about my trains, that you will see in my listings, including this listing. I grew up poor in the 1940s-1950s. I had to work hard to earn everything I have. As a result, I became fanatical about quality, condition and care. You will not be disappointed. I have done the talk, now my collectibles will do the walk! MY PERSONAL GUARANTEE: Grading of trains is often in the eye of the viewer. Your grading, may be higher or lower than mine. The only requirement is that you must pack them up with the same care, as I did, and that all items arrive back in the same condition, as when they left here. This is a nice looking 1939 semi-scale, die-cast switcher with a nice looking “PENNSYLVANIA” 2227B bell-ringing, rear light. Slope-back, 8-WHEEL, die-cast tender with a bell inside, and a light inside, showing thru a lens, in the rear of the tender body. There are no marker lights, but not sure if there are supposed to be. 8976 is rubber stamped, in silver numbers, on each side of the switcher, underneath the cab window. 227 is molded into the front of the boiler, directly under the headlight, as found on the first and second version models of this 1939 switcher, with the deluxe bell-ringing tender, with a bright rear light. The switcher has a very attractive appearance, with its nickel trimmed Baldwin disc wheels, and elaborate semi-scale design. The slope-back, die-cast tender has an equally attractive appearance with its slope-back semi-scale Design, and silver rubber-stamped “PENNSYLVANIA” on each side of its body. 2227B is clearly rubber stamped on the bottom of the tender. The wires are there from the tender to the switcher, but do not have the plug-in socket tips on them, so was not able to verify further, except to say, when we doubled up the wire ends and inserted them into the sockets, in the back of the switcher, the light in the rear of the tender stayed lit, as the switcher ran around the track. The light on the front of the switcher also worked. I believe with only a minor tuneup, and new socket ends on the tender wires, to connect with the switcher, you would be well satisfied with this very rare, and seldom seen, 0-6-0 semi-scale switcher and tender. If you only want to display the set, then you need to do nothing more. You will be hard-pressed to find a nicer example of this very rare switcher and tender.
